So, I guess I'm going to give this whole 'publishing a novel' thing a good college try!  I've always enjoyed writing, but never really considered myself a writer.  I have a few short stories laying around here somewhere...in an old notebook I carried around with me when I was in 7th grade.  I took a poetry class in college and loved it.  I've always enjoyed reading, but never imagined myself on the writing end of the novel until late one night I was struck by insomnia.  I had been carrying around some emotional baggage from my past, and just got an urge to start writing.  So, I sat down at my computer and BAM! Within a couple hours I had quite a story line started.  My brain had thoughts faster than my fingers could type.  It was a very cathartic moment for me.  Eventually, the characters took on a life of their own.  After a few years of coming back to the story occasionally after a few long-suffering bouts of writer's block, I finally had a complete manuscript of which I could feel proud! So, here I am...at the beginning of the end of this interesting journey of writing and publishing.  There is so much to learn and so many from whom I can learn!
